The Residential Life Manager is responsible for planning, conducting and managing an effective home living/residential program to enable students in achieving their educational goals. Plans and carries out an in-service training program for subordinates in the areas of dormitory operations and basic guidance techniques which include group activities, personal health and hygiene, courtesy, attitudes of democracy, grooming, etiquette, self-control, homesickness, enrichment activities, visual aids, record keeping, recording of information and office practices. Keeping in mind at all times the safety and welfare and the best interest of the students at Sherman Indian High School. Supervises and participates in individual and group counseling and guidance of students in relation to adjustment to school, group activities, personal health and hygiene, discipline, etc. Also provides Paraprofessional counseling to students on an individual and group basis consulting with the appropriate Counselor and Residential Department Head and referring students to the same when necessary. Works closely with the Residential Department Head and other resource personnel to determine recreational and enrichment activities for individuals and groups. Completes the necessary requisitions and paperwork to carry out all planned and approved activities. Supervises subordinates and participates in carrying out planned programs insuring that the students are taught fair play, teamwork, games, hobbies, and the like. Gives individual attention to students in assisting them to enter into group activities, and as necessary assumes charge of a group of students.

1. Obtained an Associate’s Degree (or higher) in applicable discipline from an accredited institution of higher education.
2. Completed 60 semester hours of study in applicable discipline from an accredited institution or higher education.

Applicable academic study includes fields related to working with children, such as child development, education, behavioral sciences and cultural studies.
Qualifying experience should be in the same line of work or similar job involving working with school age students.
If the position requires operation of a motor vehicle in performance of work, a valid State Driver's license is a prerequisite. Some positions involve work transporting students or conducting other assigned official business throughout the geographic jurisdiction of the Education Line Office. A valid State Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of employment; failure to do so may result in removal from the position.
Good distant vision in one eye and ability to read without strain printed material the size of typewritten characters are required, glasses permitted. Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, is required. In most instances, an amputation of an arm, hand, leg or foot will not disqualify an applicant for appointment, although it may be necessary that this condition be compensated by use of satisfactory prosthesis. In addition, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability.
The position requires normal physical activity with the work, field travel, and to attendance at meetings and conferences from the duty station .

The investigation may extend beyond the time covered by this form, when necessary to resolve issues.
The applicant's current employer may be contacted as part of the investigation, although the applicant may have previously indicated on applications or other forms that the applicant did not want the current employer to be contacted. If the applicant has a security freeze on their consumer or credit report file, then the agency may not be able to complete the investigation, which can adversely affect the applicant's eligibility for a public trust position or the ability to obtain Federal or contract employment.
