Did you know there are over 1,700 students experiencing homelessness enrolled in BIE schools, representing 5.4% of the total student population? And that's likely an undercount.
The Bureau of Indian Education offers the McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth Virtual Conference along with SchoolHouse Connection. During two days of sessions, attendees will learn best practices in supporting children and youth experiencing homelessness.
Sessions include:
- McKinney-Vento 101
- Allowable uses of funding
- Identifying and serving unaccompanied homeless youth
- Identifying and serving infants and young children
- And more!
More information, a detailed agenda and registration coming soon.
