BIE Summative Assessment Writing Rescue: Data-informed Strategic Planning to Support Student Success

The Principal’s Leadership Academy is pleased to present two information sessions dedicated to BIE Summative Writing Assessment.

A significant majority of our BIE students in recent years have had their overall ELA/Literacy scores negatively impacted by non-scorable writing responses. These responses are not receiving low scores based on the merits of the writing but lose the opportunity to be scored at all due to a variety of submission errors, which may include writing off topic, using too many words from source texts, writing off purpose, or submitting too few words. Targeted instructional intervention has potential to positively impact test scores overall.

In this session we will help leaders understand their local writing data and will provide actionable steps to remediate the most common challenges for students.
