Bureau of Indian Education Position Descriptions
A position description or "PD" is a statement of the major duties, responsibilities, and supervisory relationships of a position. In its simplest form, a PD indicates the work to be performed by the position. The purpose of a PD is to document the major duties and responsibilities of a position, not to spell out in detail every possible activity during the work day.
Fair Labor Standards Act
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and youth employment standards affecting employees in the private sector and in Federal, State, and local governments. FLSA laws and regulations are maintained by the Department of Labor.

Bargaining Unit Status
The Bargaining Unit Status (BUS) is the determination if the position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement Contract between The Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Indian Education, Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA) and Federation of Indian Service Employees American Federation of Teachers Local 4524 AFL-CIO.
